It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for linebacker Adrian Robinson.
Robinson was a member of the Steelers until August 23, when he was traded to the Eagles for running back Felix Jones. Robinson didn’t make the Eagles’ initial 53-man roster, which left him available for the Broncos to claim off of waivers on Sunday. He’ll take the roster spot opened up by the release of running back Jacob Hester.
Robinson should be a part of the Broncos’ special teams units after playing mainly in that role in 12 games for the Steelers last season. He could also help them with Von Miller suspended for the first six games of the season, but the special teams role is likely why he’s in Denver.
The Broncos also announced seven members of their practice squad. Wide receiver Tavarres King, a fifth-round pick this year, and tackle Vinston Painter, a sixth-round pick, join wide receiver Gerell Robinson, running back Edwin Baker, tackle Paul Cornick, guard Ben Garland and defensive end John Youboty with one space still left to fill.
