Aerial photos show all the seats removed from FedEx Field

Washington owner Dan Snyder has made no secret of the fact his stadium’s too big.

But rather than wait for somebody to build him a shiny, new, smaller one, he’s carving into the one he already occupies.

Via the Washington Post, aerial photographs show a pretty extreme carving into the upper deck of FedEx Field, marking the third time in the last five years they’ve removed seats there.

Snyder’s team used to boast about a waiting list of 200,000 to get tickets, but that’s clearly not the case any longer, as they continue to peck away at capacity (which was listed at 85,000 last year).

For years, the Jaguars were subject to mockery for the tarps which covered unused sections of seats, but that’s no longer an issue there. Maybe Snyder’s planning on using some of the real estate around the top of the stadium for a pool of his own.
