Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. left Sunday’s win over the Raiders with a knee injury and the team is set to play without him for a while.
Head coach Todd Bowles said at a Monday press conference that Winfield is going to be out “a little while” because of the injury. Bowles said it will be a matter of weeks before Winfield will be ready to return.
Winfield played 16 snaps in the 28-13 win over Las Vegas. He has 60 tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery and two passes defensed.
Kaevon Merriweather replaced Winfield against the Raiders and had seven tackles and a sack in the win.
