Tommie Harris wasn’t the only key Chicago Bear to be declared inactive in Week Three.
Wide receiver Devin Aromashodu led the team in targets in the season opener, but he’s been in the doghouse since because of dropped passes and reports that he begged out of playing in the slot.
Earl Bennett is a superior blocker and carries out his assignments, even if he’s not as explosive. Aromashodu’s comments about the benching may not particularly help his standing with Mike Martz.
“I mean, you’re not going to be perfect every play, that’s something they have to understand,” Aromashodu said Thursday via the Chicago Tribune. “I mean, as coaches, they’re not going to make the right call every play, so we just have to learn from our mistakes and try to do our best.”
Aromashodu hasn’t heard why he was benched yet, which seems like a good question to ask.
“I feel comfortable with whatever it is I have to say,” he said. “I know what lines to cross and what not to cross.”
