Arthur Blank angry, embarrassed about crowd noise investigation

arthurblank

Falcons owner Arthur Blank is not pleased with the news that the Falcons are being investigated for pumping in fake crowd noise at the Georgia Dome, in violation of NFL rules.

Blank told D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he was “angry and embarrassed” about the noise investigation.

Blank’s comments would seem to indicate that there’s been at least some finding of wrongdoing by someone affiliated with the team. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the NFL is expected to discipline the Falcons with a fine, the loss of a draft pick, or both.

The Falcons are accused of using fake crowd noise during home games in 2013 and 2014, presumably to make it harder for opposing offenses to call their signals. There has been no word on which Falcons employees were responsible for the scheme, but if Blank is angry and embarrassed by those employees’ actions, then those employees should probably start looking for other work.
