Atlanta Falcons cornerback Asante Samuel and defensive tackle Peria Jerry are both looking like they are going to be game-time decisions for Thursday night’s match up with the New Orleans Saints.
Samuel and Jerry both missed practice for a second consecutive day on Tuesday. Samuel played Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after suffering a shoulder injury against the Arizona Cardinals two weeks ago. Samuel did not practice Wednesday or Thursday last week before returning to limited participation on Friday. Head coach Mike Smith said Samuel is likely a game-time decision.
“We’re going to have to go up to game time to see where he’s at in making a decision on whether he’s going to be able to play or not,” Smith said via Michael Cunningham of theAtlanta Journal-Constitution.
Jerry has not practiced in two weeks since suffering a quadriceps injury against the Cardinals. Jerry did not play Sunday against the Buccaneers despite being listed as questionable.Samuel has started all 11 games for the Falcons and has compiled 27 tackles, two interceptions and 13 passes defensed. Jerry has played in 10 games, starting nine, with just six tackles on the season.
Cornerback Dunta Robinson also sat out practice Tuesday with an illness.
