With Hank Williams Jr. no longer asking you if you are ready for some football, ESPN has lined up a Hall of Famer to introduce Monday Night Football next week.
Monday Night Football is in Detroit for the first time in a decade, so Lions great Barry Sanders will do the honors before the Lions’ game against the Bears.
After removing Williams from his traditional “Are You Ready for Some Football?” role because he called President Obama “the enemy” and compared him to Adolf Hitler, ESPN has decided to have a different celebrity introduce the game each week. Sanders is first up.
Regardless of what you think of Williams’ comments and ESPN’s response to those comments, we can all agree on this: There’s no one better than Barry Sanders to welcome America to football in Detroit.
