The Bears have been awarded wide receiver Josh Bellamy on waivers from Washington, the NFL disclosed in its Tuesday transactions.

The Redskins waived the 24-year-old Bellamy on Monday. He played in five games for Washington in 2013, recording two special teams tackles. The Redskins signed him from their practice squad to the roster on November 26.

The 6-foot, 206-pound Bellamy first entered the NFL with the Chiefs, signing as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2012. As a rookie, he appeared in three games for Kansas City, making two tackles and returning five kickoffs for 101 yards.

The Bears now have eight receivers on the roster, with Bellamy, Domenik Hixon, Terrence Toliver, Eric Weems, Chris Williams and Marquess Wilson the reserve options behind Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall.
