Bears head coach Ben Johnson said in March that the team will consider all options at left tackle for the 2026 season and they’re still sifting through their options ahead of their first preseason game.
The Bears released their first depth chart of the year and it lists Braxton Jones, Kiran Amegadjie, and Jedrick Wills at first-team left tackle. The players are vying to replace Ozzy Trapilo as he recovers from a torn patellar tendon.
Unless the Bears have something unexpected up their sleeve, they won’t all be on the field at the same time so the preseason games should provide some hints as to how the three players actually stack up at this point in the proceedings.
There are no other spots in the starting lineup with multiple players listed as first-team options, although there’s much to sort out in the secondary as they wait to find out when Coby Bryant and Kyler Gordon might be able to return to action.
