Bears running back Kyle Monangai has been out of practice since the first day of training camp and head coach Ben Johnson gave an update on his condition at a Monday press conference.
Johnson said that Monangai is dealing with a soft tissue injury. He said the outlook is day-to-day for the 2025 seventh-round pick’s return to the field and that the belief is that his absence will not be a long-term one.
Monangai ran 169 times for 783 yards and five touchdowns during his rookie season. He also caught 18 passes for 164 yards.
D’Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Brittain Brown, Salvon Ahmed, and Coleman Bennett are the other running backs in Bears camp.
