Bengals cornerback Adam Jones is wearing a cast on his foot and getting around Paul Brown Stadium via a motorized scooter, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com tweeted Wednesday morning.
Considering the Bengals have to cover Steelers wide receivers Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant Sunday, that’s not good news. Though Jones played last week, he’s been dealing with a foot injury for more than three weeks and didn’t practice much last week.
We’ll probably know more after the usual Wednesday interviews and activities. The Bengals practice in the early afternoon.
The Bengals have been fortunate on the injury front all season, but their cornerback group has dealt with injuries in recent weeks. Leon Hall missed last week’s game, and Darqueze Dennard was shut down for the season late last month.
Jones has started all 11 games in which he’s played this season. He has two interceptions and nine pass breakups, and until two weeks ago he was the Bengals’ primary punt returner. It seems now that it was the foot issue that has limited him to defensive duties.
