It didn’t look good for Alan Branch’s future with the Bills, when he was held out of yesterday’s preseason game.
As it turns out, it was a clear sign as the Bills announced Sunday they had released Branch.
Branch is a curious case, as he was given a contract extension in December.
But the arrest on DWI charges the night before a preseason game was the last straw. According to the Associated Press, he was arrested around 2 a.m. Saturday in Cheektowaga, around 14 hours before the Bills were scheduled to play the Buccaneers.
The report said Branch had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.14, over the legal limit of 0.08.
