The Bills hosted a strong safety with vast experience in Rex Ryan’s defense on a free agent visit Tuesday.
The club announced it had met with Dawan Landry, who had played the last two seasons with the Jets under Ryan, who was New York’s head coach from 2009 through 2014.
A 10th-year pro, the 32-year-old Landry has been a starter throughout his NFL career. He entered the NFL with the Ravens in 2006 when Ryan ran the Baltimore defense. After five seasons with the Ravens, Landry had a two-season stint with the Jaguars (2011-2012) before joining New York.
In Buffalo, Landry would figure to compete to play opposite of Aaron Williams on the back end of the defense. The Bills lost starting safety Da’Norris Searcy to Tennessee earlier in free agency.
