The Bills announced the signing of veteran safety Sergio Brown on Wednesday.

Brown spent a week with the Falcons this summer and played in 15 games for the Jaguars last season after spending the previous three seasons with the Colts. He’s played in 86 career games, making 15 starts, and has one interception and four fumble recoveries. He broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots in 2010.

Brown has been on the workout circuit over the last several weeks as teams have explored veteran options at the safety position.

Earlier Wednesday the Bills announced the release of cornerback Marcus Roberson, who had been promoted from their practice squad last week ahead of their game vs. the Patriots.
