The beginning to the playoffs has a familiar ring for the Cardinals. The team had a lackluster stretch run, and Anquan Boldin is banged up.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cardinals are not optimistic Boldin will play Sunday after hurting his ankle against the Packers.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt sung a different tune earlier Monday, but that was before an MRI on Boldin’s ankle and knee. Boldin was later seen with a crutch.
Boldin isn’t the only Cardinal player facing a fresh injury. Defensive end Calais Campbell had surgery Monday on his fractured thumb. The team is hopeful he can play with a cast.
Of the three Cardinals hurt on Sunday, the team seems most confident that cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will play. That’s great news considering the matchup and the poor play of DRC’s backup Michael Adams.
