Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has a grade 1 AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, the team announced Monday.
That makes Bortles’ status for next Sunday’s game vs. Houston uncertain, but Jaguars coach Gus Bradley told reporters that he “wouldn’t be alarmed” if Bortles has to miss practice Wednesday, a sign that the team thinks with proper rest and treatment he wouldn’t have to miss a game. As always, his status will be updated through the week -- at least as much as Bradley wants to update it.
Stay tuned.
Bortles had his best statistical game of the season in a 38-31 loss to the Buccaneers Sunday, throwing for 303 yards and four touchdowns. The No. 3 overall pick of the 2014 draft is completing 57 percent of his passes and has thrown 10 touchdowns and four interceptions on the season.
Chad Henne is the only other quarterback on the Jaguars’ active roster.
