Though it’s being described by the Denver Post as an exercise in discretion, we think the Friday night comments of Broncos owner Pat Bowlen regarding a possible contract extension for receiver Brandon Marshall can be interpreted another way, too.
“We won’t talk about that,” Bowlen said.
But maybe he means that the team isn’t interested in talking to Marshall about an extension.
For now, though, we’ll defer to the interpretation provided by the Post -- that Bowlen has opted not to comment to the media on the topic of whether Marshall will receive a new deal.
Bowlen was willing to discuss Marshall’s legal victory from Friday, which cleared him of his last remaining batch of criminal charges.
“He obviously will have to come down from what he’s been through and get his head straight, but it’s good for him that he was exonerated,” Bowlen said.
Marshall, per the Post, is expected to return to practice soon, after suffering a leg injury early in training camp.
