The list of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history includes names like Herb Adderley, Mel Blount, Darrell Green, Mike Haynes, Night Train Lane and Deion Sanders. But Jets receiver Brandon Marshall says his teammate tops them all.
Darrelle Revis is the greatest cornerback of all time, according to Marshall.
“I’ve been around great ones,” Marshall said on ESPN. “I practiced against Champ Bailey . . . Charles Tillman. Played against some great guys. I didn’t play against Deion, but Darrelle Revis is the best in the league. Ever.”
Told of those comments, Revis said he appreciated it.
“It’s a great compliment from Brandon,” Revis said. “I played against him throughout my whole career. We’ve had our battles. He’s won some battles when we played against each other in the past and I’ve won some. I think it’s just a mutual respect that we have for each other.”
Marshall respects Revis more than any other cornerback he’s ever faced.
