The New England Patriots have reached an agreement with second-round draft pick Brandon Spikes.
The Boston Herald reports that Spikes, a linebacker from Florida taken with the 62nd overall pick, agreed to a four-year, $3.215 million contract with a $950,000 signing bonus.
“He’s extremely pleased,” agent Terry Watson told the Herald. “He’s ready to go play football and be a good Patriot.”
Spikes will compete with Gary Guyton and Tyrone McKenzie at inside linebacker.
Of the Patriots’ 12 draft picks, only first-round pick Devin McCourty is unsigned.
