Brett Favre looks good in pre-game warmups

Brett Favre Pic II

The chances of Vikings quarterback Brett Favre making his 298th start continue to rise.

Upgraded from “out” to “questionable” on the injury report earlier today, Favre is currently on the field throwing in pre-game warmups. Favre is being watched closely by Vikings head trainer Eric Sugerman, as well as offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. In the limited clips of Favre’s activities we’ve seen, he’s been able to power the ball downfield and looks healthy enough to start.

Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities is onsite at TCF Bank Stadium, and has observed Favre “chucking darts.” Adds Pelissero, “If he’s hurting, he’s not showing it.”

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Favre is “throwing 18-yard and 20-yard passes with some zip.”

Later, Favre threw from 35 and 40 yards, showing no ill effects from his sprained S.C. shoulder joint.

It appears the Joe Webb era in Minnesota will have to wait.
