Quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler are gone. Now, running back C.J. Anderson could be joining them.
With the free-agency period open, teams can make a run at Anderson, a restricted free agent who was tendered at the lowest possible level -- and who in turn can be had via an offer sheet that the Broncos can’t or won’t match.
If Anderson, who is expected to generate significant interest, leaves the Broncos, he’ll join Manning, Osweiler, Malik Jackson, and Danny Trevathan as former members of the team.
Broncos fans possibly are powering through this phase of the offseason muttering, “In Elway we trust.” Possibly while sitting on the floor and turning a lamp on and off. On and off. On and off.
