Browns defensive end Alex Wright was carted off the field with a lower-leg injury, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Browns coach Todd Monken said after practice he did not have an update on Wright.
Any absence by Wright into the regular season would hurt.
The Browns traded Myles Garrett this offseason, leaving a huge hole at the position. They were interested in Jadeveon Clowney, Za’Darius Smith and A.J. Epenesa, but none of them signed.
The team drafted Wright in the third round of the 2022 draft. He totaled 37 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in 14 games last season.
The Browns signed him to a three-year, $33 million contract extension in November.
