Hue Jackson interviewed with the 49ers for five hours Sunday in Cincinnati, NFL Network’s Mike Silver reported.
Jackson was then scheduled to move on to an interview with the Browns, who confirmed earlier Sunday that they had interviewed Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.
Jackson, the Bengals’ offensive coordinator, had set interviews for Sunday in hopes he’d be preparing for another playoff game. McDermott interviewed before returning to playoff preparations with the Panthers, who are the NFC’s No. 1 seed.
The Browns had previously interviewed Teryl Austin, Doug Marrone, Matt Patricia, Adam Gase and Jerome Henderson. Gase was hired by the Dolphins on Saturday.
