Unlike the open-for-business approach the Arizona Cardinals are taking regarding wide receiver Anquan Boldin being placed on the trading block, the Cleveland Browns prefer to keep things pretty quiet. When asked today about persistent trade reports involving quarterback Brady Quinn and wide receiver Braylon Edwards, Browns General Manager George Kokinis declined to elaborate on what he described as “internal business,” according to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Kokinis also didn’t want to discuss the Browns’ reported pursuit of quarterback Jay Cutler, who the Denver Broncos wound up trading to the Chicago Bears. “Jay Cutler went to the Bears and he’s a member of the Bears,” Kokinis said. “When those rumors came up, just like any option, you read about it, discuss it internally, and move forward.” Kokinis repeatedly said that quarterback Derek Anderson is “100 percent” after injuring his left knee at the end of the season, and he declined to say whether Anderson had surgery to repair a sprained medial collateral ligament. I don’t know if Kokinis plays poker, but he might want to consider taking up the game.
