Looking for some additional depth at cornerback, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted C.J. Wilson from their practice squad on Wednesday.

Wilson, a second-year player out of North Carolina State, appeared in two games for the Chicago Bears as a rookie in 2013. Wilson was waived and spent the remainder of the year on the team’s practice squad before being released at the end of training camp this year.

Wilson had two interceptions in the preseason for Chicago before being released and signing with the Buccaneers practice squad in September. Wilson takes the place of guard Kadeem Edwards on Tampa Bay’s 53-man roster. Edwards was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
