Greg Schiano is running into his first difficulties in Tampa. He’s struggling to put together his staff of Buccaneers coaches.

The Packers denied Schiano a chance to talk to tight end coach Ben McAdoo about Tampa’s vacant offensive coordinator position, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com.

The Cardinals also denied the Bucs a chance to interview Cardinals assistant John McNulty for the coordinator position. Considering Schiano’s background on the defensive side of the ball, his offensive hire is crucial. The Bucs need to have the right plan to handle Josh Freeman’s development.

At this point, they are struggling just to get candidates into the building for an interview.

The Packers, meanwhile, kept all their assistants this offseason other than Joe Philbin. There was some concern there would be a mass exodus from the staff because so many Packers coaches were candidates to get jobs elsewhere.
