C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s one-game suspension upheld on appeal

Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s one-game suspension has been upheld on appeal, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Gardner-Johnson was suspended for spitting at an opponent during the Week 6 win over the Raiders.

Jordy Nelson heard Gardner-Johnson’s appeal.

While the Bills are on a bye in Week 7, Gardner-Johnson is now officially ineligible for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Ravens.

Head coach Joe Brady has said that the team is not planning to release Gardner-Johnson after the spitting incident.
