C.J. Spiller won’t play against Pittsburgh

Early-week reports had the Bills optimistic about getting back running back/returner C.J. Spiller for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

It’s not happening.

Still battling a hamstring injury, Spiller will watch the game in street clothes. He’ll be joined on the sideline by offensive guard Eric Wood, defensive tackle John McCargo, linebacker Mike Balogun, defensive lineman Spencer Johnson, cornerback Terrence McGee, offensive tackle Cord Howard, and tight end Shawn Nelson.

UPDATE: Inactive for the Steelers: Defensive end Brett Keisel, tight end Matt Spaeth, defensive end Aaron Smith, running back Jonathan Dwyer, offensive lineman Chris Scott, defensive back Crezdon Butler, and wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Charlie Batch is the Steelers’ third quarterback.
