C.J. Stroud’s 18th TD of the season cuts Jaguars lead to 10-7

Get used to the C.J. Stroud-to-Tank Dell connection. The rookies have something special going in Houston.

Stroud found Dell for the seventh touchdown between the two this season. It was the 18th touchdown throw for Stroud, the 11th when his team is trailing.

The 7-yard throw, which happened after Stroud bought time by moving left before throwing back across his body to his right, has drawn the Texans to within 10-7.

Stroud and Dell connected on a 62-yard pass play in the first quarter, but it was negated by an illegal shift call on Dell.

Stroud is 7-of-9 for 106 yards and a touchdown.

But Trevor Lawrence has played as well if not better.

The Jaguars trailed 17-0 at halftime in the loss to the Texans earlier this season. They led 10-0 today before Stroud’s answer.

Lawrence scored on a 1-yard run. He is 8-of-12 passing for 155 yards.
