For a guy not even on the practice field at the moment, Tyrann Mathieu did pretty well for himself at the bank.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cardinals and their Pro Bowl safety have agreed to a new five-year deal, worth around $12 million per year.

Mathieu is still on the PUP list recovering from last year’s torn ACL, but the Cardinals obviously thought he was a huge priority, as they hope to do another deal with defensive lineman Calais Campbell as well.

While it’s a big deal, it’s also well-earned for Mathieu, who overcame his own personal struggles to become an NFL star, and was a tremendous steal for the team which chose him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
