Cardinals call up Kerwynn Williams, cut Joseph Fauria

The man with a history of creative end-zone celebrations has no reason to celebrate on Saturday.

The Cardinals have released tight end Joseph Fauria to create a roster spot for running back Kerywnn Williams.

Williams was activated from the practice squad because running back Andre Ellington is out with a knee injury for Saturday’s game at Chicago. Ellington’s absence gives Chris Johnson a chance to prove that he’s the same guy he used to be.

Fauria used to be a touchdown machine for the Lions, scoring seven in 2013 as a rookie. He’ll be subject to waivers.
