Just five days before he would face his former team, the Arizona Cardinals released cornerback Tharold Simon.

Simon appeared in nine games for the Cardinals this season after being released by the Seattle Seahawks following the opening week of the regular season. Arizona claimed the former fifth-round pick off waivers in September.

Simon had been active just twice in the last six weeks for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals promoted cornerback Harlan Miller from their practice squad to take Simon’s place on the team’s 53-man roster. Miller was a sixth-round pick by Arizona in May. He was waived by the team during final cuts and re-signed to the team’s practice squad.
