The Cardinals have wrapped up deals with both fifth-round selections, signing West Virginia linebacker/defensive end Shaquille Riddick and UAB wide receiver J.J. Nelson, the team said on Twitter on Tuesday.
Riddick (6-6, 242) notched seven sacks in 2014 for the Mountaineers, and he’ll compete for time at outside linebacker in Arizona’s 3-4 scheme.
Nelson (5-10, 156) ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine (4.28 seconds), making him a solid fit in an Arizona offense that likes to stretch the field. Moreover, he was a dynamic special teams player for the Blazers, averaging 38.3 yards on 22 kickoffs and bringing back four kickoffs for touchdowns in 2014.
