Carlos Hyde says he has stress fracture in foot

Carlos Hyde was held to just 40 yards on 11 carries in a 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night.

Hyde was listed as questionable for tonight’s game but ultimately was able to play despite a foot injury that kept him limited in practice all week. Hyde told Tracy Wolfson of CBS before the game that the injury was actually a stress fracture in his foot.

When asked after the game if he had a stress fracture in his foot, Hyde said “something like that.”

I just put too much pressure, too much weight on it,” Hyde said after last week’s game against Baltimore, per Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com. “It hurts when I put too much weight on it.

“It just shocked me how bad it hurt when I tried to put too much weight on it, and I just went down.”

49ers head coach Jim Tomsula had referred to the injury as a bruise earlier this week.
