With J.J. Watt moving from the No. 2 booth at CBS to the top spot vacated (for now, possibly for good) by Tony Romo, CBS had to replace Watt’s spot.
On Tuesday, CBS announced that former NFL lineman Ross Tucker will take the spot alongside Ian Eagle.
Tucker, who played pro football for the better part of a decade, has been calling college and pro games for CBS since 2018.
It’s a significant leap for Tucker, who had been on the No. 6 broadcast team at CBS before the current bump.
And if Watt ends up remaining in the No. 1 spot through 2026 and beyond, Tucker has an opportunity to stick in the second spot at CBS.
