The Bills are trying to set a noise record this week, and their coach and players are leading the charge.
But as you might expect, Patriots players aren’t playing into it.
Via Erik Frenz of Boston.com, the overwhelming response to trash talk coming from Western New York this week is more like a shrug when asked about messages being delivered.
“That’s how you’re a professional,” defensive end Chandler Jones said. “Professionals should carry themselves that way. Let your pads do the talking, not your mouth.”
“Personally, that’s how I was raised: being quiet through it all, just let people see you and not hear you for the most part.”
Of course, the Patriots have already reached the level the Bills are trying to attain, allowing them to take the high road here.
“We’re not in high school where it’s ‘ra, ra’ and this guy said that. This is the National Football League,” wide receiver Julian Edelman said. “This is our job, so if you’ve taken time out of your day to think about what other teams are saying, and what’s going on in the outside world, you’re taking away time for preparing.”
Clearly, head coach Bill Belichick’s message this week has been delivered, as they’re going to try to quiet the Bills the most effective way they know how.
