Ronnie Brown will stick around a little longer in San Diego.

The Chargers announced today that Brown has signed a one-year contract.

Brown quietly had a solid season for the Chargers last year, carrying 46 times for 220 yards and adding 49 catches for 371 yards. Although he’s not the every-down back he was early in his career with the Dolphins, his status as both a good receiver out of the backfield and a good blocker who can pick up the blitz makes him a valuable player on passing downs.

At age 31, Brown doesn’t have much time left in the NFL. But the Chargers are giving him a little more time.
