The Chargers signed veteran wideout Kelley Washington to bolster their badly depleted wideout corps.
Consider that their No. 2 receiver this week, Seyi Ajirotutu, was on the practice squad not so long ago. No. 3 is Gary Banks, another practice squader. They are without Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee, who hope to return after the bye. Buster Davis is out for the year.
Antonio Gates’ status is also up in the air. Gates tweeted Thursday that he’s “not sure if I’m playing or not taking it one day at a time.”
