The Chargers have added one of Don Shula’s grandchildren to their coaching staff.
San Diego has hired Chris Shula as a defensive quality control coach, the club said Monday.
Chris Shula was defensive coordinator at John Carroll University in 2014, the school from which his grandfather graduated. Previously, Chris Shula was an assistant at Indiana and Ball State. He played collegiately at Miami (Ohio).
Chris Shula’s father, Dave, was the Bengals’ head coach from 1992 through 1996.
