Linebacker Brandon Siler fit right into Kansas City’s free agent strategy.
He was a talented low-cost player with a high ceiling that figured to eventually challenge for starting snaps at inside linebacker. Unfortunately, Siler will now miss the season with a torn Achilles’ tendon.
The team hasn’t said anything, but Adam Teicher of Kansas City Star reports Siler will not return. The injury should open up a roster spot for a younger linebacker. Siler was set to be the top backup at inside linebacker and a key special teamer.
