The Chiefs have released linebacker Robert James and Dominique Jones, the club said Thursday.

James, 30, was added to the Chiefs’ roster on Dec. 31, and he appeared in the club’s wild card round loss at Indianapolis. James, who had stints with Atlanta and Baltimore before joining Kansas City, has appeared in 19 regular season games in his NFL career.

The 26-year-old Jones appeared in two games for the Chiefs in 2013, finishing the season on the reserve/non-football illness list. The Chiefs signed Jones to their practice squad on Oct. 30, eight days after the Colts waived him.

Jones played in 10 regular season games for the Colts from 2012-2013, starting three and catching three passes for 42 yards.
