Get ready for some more paid leave, unless it becomes permanent unpaid leave first.
According to Michael Bonner of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Chiefs rookie safety Justin Cox was arrested Monday on aggravated domestic violence charges, along with burglary of a residence and trespassing.
The Chiefs signed Cox as an undrafted rookie from Mississippi State, which means he’ll be easy enough to make an example of just before camp.
According to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, Cox was arrested yesterday afternoon after an incident at an apartment complex. He’s still in custody and bond hasn’t been set, pending an arraignment today.
It’s his second arrest involving domestic violence in eight months, after similar charges last November. He was suspended after that one and didn’t play in the Bulldogs’ final three games. But after running a 4.36-second 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Chiefs gave him a chance to come to camp.
