Chiefs rule out D.J. Humphries, activate Harrison Butker

The Chiefs said left tackle D.J. Humphries was unlikely to play against the Browns when they handed in their final injury report of the week and they have now officially ruled him out.

Humphries injured his hamstring in last Sunday’s win over the Chargers and then missed practice all week. That led to him being listed as doubtful to play and the Chiefs announced on Saturday that he will not play.

Wanya Morris will likely return to the starting lineup in Humphries’s place.

As expected, the Chiefs also announced that they have activated kicker Harrison Butker from injured reserve. Butker had been listed as questionable, but no longer has an injury designation.

Kicker Matthew Wright was waived to make room for Butker. The Chiefs rounded out their moves by elevating linebacker Swayze Bozeman and tight end Anthony Firkser from the practice squad.
