Nobody wants to play running back for the Dolphins.
The latest near-miss for Miami’s attempt to restock their backfield came today, when veteran Chris Johnson decided to re-sign for another year with the Cardinals, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The 30-year-old Johnson had just wrapped up a visit to Miami, or else he just wanted to see South Beach on somebody else’s dime.
Either way, he’s back with the Cardinals, where he bounced back nicely last year and was a contributor for a very good offense. He ran for 814 yards in 11 games, averaging 4.2 yards per carry
The Dolphins watched Lamar Miller walk out the door for Houston, then tried to sign Denver restricted free agent C.J. Anderson before the Broncos matched. We’ll see who Plan D is now.
