Colin Kaepernick hears boos, but puts 49ers up early in Miami

The reaction to Colin Kaepernick in Miami was not a warm one, as expected after his midweek defense of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

But Kaepernick didn’t let it bother him on the field.

The 49ers quarterback gave his team a 7-0 lead on the road, hitting Carlos Hyde with a short touchdown pass.

It capped an impressive drive for the 49ers, who went 62 yards on eight plays, with Kaepernick doing a lot of the work himself. He ran for 14 yards on the first play of the game, setting an early tone. He also completed 4-of-5 passes for 31 yards and the touchdown.

Kaepernick and 49ers outside linebacker Eli Harold continued their pattern of taking a knee during the national anthem (as did Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills and safety Michael Thomas).
But as soon as he took the field, the locals let him hear it, at least until he found the end zone.
