There were some false alarms on the way to the finish line, but the Colts have signed linebacker Trent Cole.
The team announced the two-year deal with the former Eagle on Tuesday afternoon. Multiple reports peg the value of the deal at $16 million with $8 million in guaranteed money for a player who had 6.5 sacks in Philly last season. He joins former Eagles guard Todd Herremans in reuniting with Colts General Manager and former Eagles staffer Ryan Grigson.
Indianapolis announced another deal on what’s been a busy day for the AFC South champs. Safety Colt Anderson will return to the team after recording a team-high 15 special teams tackles in 2014. Safety Mike Adams and offensive lineman Joe Reitz have also re-signed with the Colts.
The day could get even busier as the Colts are believed to be in pursuit of running back Frank Gore and wide receiver as they try to build a team that can advance to the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
