The Colts didn’t want to panic after losing their season opener in Buffalo.
After two more flat quarters Monday night, it still might not be time to panic. But the Colts are stinking up the joint against the Jets and trail 10-0 at halftime.
Andrew Luck has turned the ball over twice, once by fumble and once by interception. The interception came on the first drive and led to what was basically a gift touchdown. The fumble late in the half came on a third and 10 when Luck probably should have just thrown the ball away and ended up fumbling while trying to run and convert a first down he wasn’t going to convert.
Luck is 5-of-14 passing for 52 yards at halftime.
The Colts are out of cornerbacks and have been hurt by penalties in addition to blitzes by the Jets. Adam Vinatieri missed a 29-yard field goal on the Colts’ first drive.
Nick Folk missed a 48-yard field goal late in the half for the Jets, which was the best thing to happen to the Colts in more than a quarter. The Colts will get the ball to start the second half.
