The Colts signed a backup inside linebacker on Saturday, bringing up rookie Andrew Jackson from the practice squad, the team announced.

Jackson (6-1, 254) was the Colts’ sixth-round pick in May. He spent the first three games on the practice squad. A Western Kentucky product, Jackson could provide depth behind Josh McNary and D’Qwell Jackson and contribute on special teams in Sunday’s matchup against Tennessee.

The Colts will again be without starting inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) on Sunday. McNary will get the call for Freeman, who will be missing his third straight game.

To make room for Jackson, the Colts waived fullback/inside linebacker Mario Harvey with an “injured” designation. Harvey has a hamstring injury. If he clears waivers, he will land on injured reserve.
