The Commanders officially signed cornerback Rasul Douglas on Monday and they parted ways with another veteran to make room for Douglas on the roster.
Linebacker Nick Bellore has been placed on the reserve/retired list. Bellore has been in the league since 2011 and he spent the last two seasons with the Commanders.
Bellore saw most of his playing time on special teams over the course of his career and made a pair of Pro Bowls in that role while he was a member of the Seahawks. He entered the league with the Jets and also played for the 49ers and Lions before his stints with Seattle and Washington.
Bellore had 280 tackles, a sack, an interception, three forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries during his career. He also moonlighted as a fullback at times and caught a pair of touchdowns.
