Cop posed for photos with Roethlisberger before investigating complaint

As it turns out, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was palling around in Milledgeville, Georgia not only with two off-duty cops from Pennsylvania but also with an on-duty officer who would later investigating the charge of sexual assault.

According to the Milledgeville Union-Recorder, Sgt. Jerry Blash posed for photos with Roethlisberger earlier in the evening, both alone and with a group of other officers.

“The photographs did not and have not affected the investigation at all,” Police Chief Woodrow Blue told the Union-Recorder.

This subplot probably would be far less meaningful if I hadn’t seen parts of Superbad the other night on FX. And it’s a shame that the whole criminal complaint thing happened; otherwise, Ben might have eventually gotten a chance to fire bullets at a burning cruiser.
